The School of Information at Florida State University is now accepting applications from motivated, diverse, and academically well-qualified candidates to our Ph.D. in Information program for the 2025-2026 academic year.  

We are seeking future Ph.D. students with the potential and enthusiasm necessary to perform impactful independent research on a variety of information-related problems within a broad range of contexts and settings. The Ph.D. in information is a full-time, research-intensive degree designed to equip students with the skills, attitudes, and experiences necessary to conduct socially relevant, theoretically informed, and methodologically rigorous research in an area of their choosing.  

Our individualized and interdisciplinary approach allows students to build unique programs of study around specific areas of research interest. Students have an opportunity to work with and be mentored by our distinguished and highly multi-disciplinary faculty. Our world-class faculty are renowned for their expertise in areas such as digital youth, health informatics, data analytics, cybersecurity, digital government, distributed knowledge processes, digital libraries, data curation, data quality, educational informatics, game design, human computer interaction, information behavior, information literacy, information management, information policy, innovation, large-scale networks, museum informatics, and social informatics.
