Given the critical need to fill the cybersecurity talent skills gap, the PANW Cybersecurity Academy invites you to participate in our 5th annual “Secure the Future” 2023 academic
COMPETITION DETAILS
This academic competition is designed to challenge cybersecurity students on how to make decisions regarding the protection of operational assets through the analysis, comparison, and selection of advanced security tools, methodologies, and implementation options.

The competition will be hosted online through the Palo Alto Networks Cybersecurity Academy Moodle LMS platform and there are 4 overall phases in which the students will compete.
- Phase 1 – Competition Qualifier (October 1 – October 13, 2023)
- Phase 2 – Competition Research and Learning (October 16 – December 8, 2023)
- Phase 3 – Competition Report and Video Summary (Deadline: December 22, 2023)
- Phase 4 – Competition Formal Presentation and Awards (January 2024)
COMPETITION AWARDS
The top 10 students will be invited to present their competition report to a panel of security professionals at Palo Alto Networks headquarters in Santa Clara California where they will formally present their recommendations to secure the future of their selected industry. Palo Alto Networks will cover the cost of travel, meals, and lodging.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three students who will be selected based on their presentation skills and overall competition performance.
- $10,000 – 1st place
- $5,000 – 2nd place
- $2,500 – 3rd place
Additionally, the top 10 students will have the opportunity to interview for potential open internship or employment positions with Palo Alto Networks.
